What's your best quality?
Loyalty. I don't trust people easily, but once I do, I will kill, maim, move bodies, and have babies for you. I bear grudges on behalf of my friends longer than they do, I will fiercely defend them to the whole world no matter what they do, and I will wreak vengeance upon anyone who fucks with my people.
Yep, I'm still angry. In good news, however, I am in The City and seeing my puppy acts as total therapy - she is the bestest person in the whole world. I guess my parents are pretty good too.
What did you learn in kindergarten that you wish you did a better job of applying to the way you live your life today?
Kicking people in the shins. I seriously think it is under-utilized in the modern world of business.
What are your first thoughts upon waking?

...must curl toes... bunch doona... why is alarm so loud?... too comfy to get up... just 10 more minutes... how long do I really need to get ready this morning anyway... my hair must look horrible...
What's on your "To-Do" list today? What are you most looking forward to and what are you most dreading?
- fruit n vegie shop
- bunnings for hooks and pruning shears
- coffee and material shopping with friend
- woolies for groceries
- start reading a v boring / thick national park management plan
- getting some washing done (hand washing is such a slow process!)
- returning DVDs (and almost certainly getting more)
It sounds silly, but I am sort of most dreading hanging out with a friend. That is no reflection on her - more on me. I have a love / hate relationship with social interaction. I enjoy it, but I also find it very draining. I'm just not very good at it, and it takes lots of effort for me to be perky with relatively new people. I would love to be a people person. Many people think I am, but really I'm only good at faking being a people person.
Anyhoo, hopeful plans (as opposed to "to-dos") for the weekend include:
- seeing the SATC movie
- going to sunday football
- making red onion jam
- scoring a washing machine
- watching Sunday night BBC on ABC
- an afternoon nap (hopefully today)
- read my book
- call my friend who I have woefully neglected the last few weeks
- local trash & treasure market
I suppose I should also start looking for a wedding present for my sister and her boyfriend too...
Look at the first post you ever wrote on Vox. What important developments or changes have occurred in your life since then?

Well, I've moved to G-town. I have a new (rental) house with a new housemate. I sort of have a new job (same company, but in regional office and effectively a promotion thanks to getting admitted as a lawyer). My personal life is a lot quieter, but mostly that is okay.
Generally, I think my life is saner and makes more sense. I am more at peace and less hectic. I have more time to do the things I like to do (cooking, reading, generally being a slob). And I think I have learned the joys of having a blog and some new online pals :P
What do you do when you get a crush on someone?
Submitted by Desi.
Become completely insane. I mean it. Completely. Insane. I babble and dote, or I become very mean. I lose the ability to talk, and consequently say stupid stuff which freaks the crush out. I can't look them in the face, I go bright red, and I occasionally mutter under my breath.
Yep. This love stuff. Its a muthaducker.
How many pair of shoes do you have? Out of those pairs, how many do you wear more than a few times a year?
Submitted by fightinggale.
Hmm...
- Blue open toe wedges w bows x2: I have 2 pairs of these because I wore the first pair to death, but they were such good shoes that I went and bought another pair. They were on $15 from Target, so I figure that is totally justifiable.
- Watermelon open toed wedges: wore these a lot out in The City and even to work there, but the G-Town office is more casual, so I haven't worn them much since moving.
- Yellow canvas closed toe wedges: haven't worn these once. It is too hot for these. Although I bought them in summer, I've decided that they are a winter shoe. Or at least a G-town winter shoe.
- Red suedish closed toe wedges: wore these quite a lot last winter. I like to wear these with my leopard print pencil skirt. I've also been known to wear these to work, even though they aren't very comfortable because like all my shoes they are slight too small.
- Black suedish closed toe wedges: as above. Yes, I bought the shoes in 2 different colours. But again, they were $25 a pair from Target, so totally justifiable. I have massive clodhoppers for feet, so when I find something I can actually squeeze the bastards into, I will buy more than one pair if they are cheeeep.
[I'm aware I have a lot of wedges... but Target was really into wedges that season, and they are the source of a huge number of my shoes because they do an Aus 11, which most shoe makers don't. Bastards.]
- Black peep toe heels: love these in theory, but am shit at wearing heels so they only come out occasionally. Also, wearing them makes me at least 6ft, which makes me tower over my teensy friends.
- Brown sandals: Target again. Not hugely comfy, but I wear to meetings with clients in the middle of summer because they are slightly nicer than thongs. I would ultimately like to replace them with new Birkenstocks.
- Gladiator-y sandals: wore these heaps, especially to work, but they are starting to tear at the elastic and I am now a bit reluctant to wear them in case I come unstuck in the middle of walking.
- Polka dot closed toe slingback heels: got these in London 3 years ago. Worn them quite a lot, although they now give me blisters on my little toe after about 5 minutes. A bit dated, but I'm hanging on to them because in fashion what goes around comes around... eventually.
- Closed toe daisy flats: Another London pair. Never really worn. Too painful to actually break in. Dammit.
- Grey tweedy pointy flats: a recent purchase, for work meetings in The City, so have only worn around the house trying to break them in. Will wear in a few weeks though.
- Black satiny pointy flats w bow: a recent purchase, only worn around house trying to break them in, too fancy for G-town I would think. Got these mostly because I didn't have a single pair of shoes I could wear with a dress I bought or anything to wear out for nice dinners w parents and so on. These will be highly useful, albeit rarely worn.
- Purple closed toe ballet slippery flats: wear these to work several times a week.
- Brown slouchy cowgirl boots with a small wood heel: my latest, and most beloved, purchase. These were $35 from Target but are FABULOUS. The weather just will not get cold enough to wear em though. I feel I would look ridiculous wearing them to work when it is seriously sunny out.
Well that was more information than anyone ever wanted to know about my shoes... I'm totally avoiding doing any work.
What is your definition of cheating?
When you wouldn't / won't tell your partner about it when you get home. If your impulse is to hide or deny it, for any reason, then to my mind it's cheating.
What do you do EVERY day to take care of the earth's environment? What could you do more of?
When I think about it, I do very little every day to take care of the earth's environment.
On the positive side, I try to turn off lights that I don't need, I don't have an air-conditioner in my house (or car, but that is due to the fact that it is broken and I'm broke), I turn my telly off at the switch (partly because the button is missing on the remote), I turn my stereo off at the power button not just by pressing 'stop', I use "earth friendly" detergent and cleaning spray (except for the toilet and fridge). My office buddy and I often go most of the day without the work air-con or the overhead fluro if possible. I use water saver liquidy goo on the garden. I handwash all my clothes, and don't use a dryer.
BUT I don't recycle (my town doesn't have the necessary facilities, talk about backward), I drive a car (although it is partly on LPG), I eat meat, I buy new clothes, I have two dead laptops floating around, I don't only buy local or organic (because the one store which sells such goodies is only open during work hours and Saturday mornings) and so on and so on.
Moving to a country town has definitely down-graded my green cred. It is harder to be earth friendly in a town which doesn't have recycling, public transport, decent shopping hours for small businesses etc. In some ways I think my life is less materialistic though - I don't shop for frippery much because there is nowhere to shop (and I'm broke a lot), I cook pretty much every night and no longer get takeaway 2 or so nights a week, I take my lunch to work everyday which probably reduces packaging and waste, I rarely get drinks from shops and I re-use the same water bottle at work for about 2-3 weeks at a time.
Generally I've noticed that since moving I think a lot more about the money I spend, particularly on food. The only place I really eat out is a little cafe that I go to for breakfast occasionally. I love their scrambled eggs, because they are the best I've ever had and they use free range eggs. Maybe the two issues are related!
So I'm certainly not the world's best environmentalist, but I guess at least I'm thinking about it.
What do you want to be famous for?
Submitted by bluemoon07.
I don't know that I want to be famous for anything. My ambitions are smaller than that. What I would like, however, is that in my professional life I am known by my colleagues for being a competent, thorough, ethical lawyer. I'm sure that is quite boring, but I would hate to think that when I leave a job people come across my matters and go 'why the hell did she do that?' or 'what was she thinking?'.
